Coaching Courses
All coaches at Peters Township must take one course on concussions and one course on sudden cardiac arrest each year. Links are provided below. Certificates marking completion of each course must be submitted annually to the athletic office.
PIAA Coaching Education Requirements
The following continuing educational courses are required for coaches engaged at a PIAA Member School:
- Core Courses (complete a coaching education course and a First Aid course from either of the two providers below, once completed please submit a certificate or transcript for approval to the PIAA by creating a coaches profile, directions below):
- American Sport Education Program (ASEP) in-person courses, materials will be provided by instructor
- Sport First Aid
- Coaching Principles
- National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) online courses
- American Sport Education Program (ASEP) in-person courses, materials will be provided by instructor
- First time coaches hired at any PIAA school after July 1, 2016, will have two years from their date of hire to complete this requirement. College credit can also be submitted to the PIAA in place of completing one or both of the coaching education courses
